Junction West Grand Junction is half way between Denver and Salt Lake City. We are an hour and a half from Moab and Glenwood Hot Springs is about 2 hours.

We are conveniently located five minutes from Fruita and Downtown Grand Junction. Grand Junction has its own little Moab with unique rock formations and amazing trails for all different enthusiasts and levels.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs

Situated on a terraced hillside along the Colorado River, Iron Mountain Hot Springs features 16 individual soaking pools. There’s also a larger, freshwater family pool with an attached, elevated jetted spa. Temperatures range from 99° to 108°F for the soaking pools and 93°F for the family pool. Everyone has their personal favorite.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park has the singular distinction as America’s only mountain-top theme park. It is uniquely situated atop Iron Mountain at an elevation of 7,100 feet above sea level. Adding to the excitement, the primary way of arriving at the Park is via the newly commissioned Glenwood Gondola!

Four-Wheeling Adventures

Grand Junction may not have the popularity of Moab yet, but it has some great 4-wheeling trails that offer a variety of terrain that will improve skill levels,” according to Bill Burke certified Master Trainer for the International 4-Wheel Drive Trainers’ Association.

Skiing/Snowboarding

LA family-oriented downhill skiing and snowboarding resort, Powderhorn sits on the edge of the Grand Mesa with breathtaking valley views. Or, if cross-country skiing is more your style, shush along miles of groomed trails on top of the Grand Mesa maintained by the Grand Mesa Nordic Council.

Cycling

Mountain Bike Trails Over the past decade Grand Junction and Fruita locals have created some of the sweetest single-track in the Western United States. The Fruita Fat Tire Festival in April is a popular event with mountain bike enthusiasts. 18 miles of paved trails along the Colorado River and even more miles of quiet country roads to explore right from the entrance to the park.

Golf

Several world class public courses provide the perfect blend of aesthetics and challenge. Adobe Creek National Golf Course, Tiara Rado and Lincoln Park municipal golf courses and Redland Mesa Golf Course, all barely a pitching wedge away – offer a dramatic backdrop – the Colorado National Monument.

Whether you need office supplies, a new outfit or gift items, you can find it all in Grand Junction. You can explore unique shops in Downtown Grand Junction or visit Mesa Mall the premier enclosed shopping center for Western Colorado and Eastern Utah.

Downtown Grand Junction

Downtown Grand Junction An eclectic blend of old and new, Downtown Grand Junction has retained its quaint charm with historic Victorian-style buildings, beautifully decorated shop windows, unique restaurants and old-fashioned community events designed to keep neighbors and friends in touch. Visit Art on the Corner, Grand Junction’s unique yearlong outdoor sculpture exhibit or the historic Avalon Theatre. In the summer, join the locals at the Farmer’s Market on Thursday evenings.

Museums

Get a taste of rural life on an early 20th century fruit ranch at Cross Orchards Historic Farm. Learn about the colorful history of Western Colorado’s explorers, cowboys and indians at the Museum of the West. Or, step even further back in time by visiting Dinosaur Journey to see genuine dinosaur fossils and interact with life-like robotic dinosaurs.

Rodeo

Mesa County Fairgrounds hosts a pair of western Colorado’s more important rodeos: the Western Colorado Championships, part of the United State Team Roping Championships series, and the annual Colorado Pro Rodeo Association Finals in September. Also, Rimrok Adventures in Fruita has a full lineup of rodeo action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, June through August.

Wine Tasting

Over 17 Colorado wineries are within easy reach of Junction West. Producing everything from crisp, refreshing Chardonnay to hearty Cabernet to pleasing Port and dessert wines – you are sure to find something you like. Fishing

There is an incredible variety of fishing options in and around the Grand Junction area from the Grand Mesa’s 300 lakes to the many rivers in the surrounding areas. For information on license requirements, please contact the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

Festivals

Join us for a variety of festivals and special events – nearly every weekend in the summer and fall. Downtown Art & Jazz Festival in May, Country Jam in June, Palisade Peach Festival in August, Rock Jam Music Festival and Colorado Mountain Winefest and Pork n Hops Challenge in September. River Rafting & Boating

The Colorado River has many sections that are fun for rafting enthusiasts. Wild and historic Westwater Canyon is considered to be the best one-day whitewater trip in the area. Grand Mesa

At over 10,000 feet the largest flat-top mountain in the world rises more than a mile above the valley floor. Discover aspen and spruce groves, flowered meadows and 300 cool clear lakes offering fantastic fishing for rainbow, brook and brown trout. Grand Mesa has abundant wildlife, making this a popular area for hiking and fall hunting. In the winter, enjoy all types of snow sports from cross-country skiing to snowmobiling and snowball fights. During the hot summer months, locals and visitors love to visit Grand Mesa, where temperatures are cooler than the rest of the Grand Junction area.
